"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and
only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

I don't remember not "knowing of God", but it has only been the last few years that
I can say I am getting to know Him.
I was fortunate to have a Christian grandmother who was a wonderful witness for the
Lord. There are many great memories of her love in action and I thank God for the
gift of her in my life.
I know Jesus knocked at my door many times over the years, and many times through
hard times I called out to Him. But at that time in my life I knew God only as a
Spirit out there somewhere. Today I know Him as my personal saviour. He has accepted
me as I am; forgiven me of my sins; He loves me and only wants the best for me. I am
so thankful for His mercy.
Through the encouragement of a life-long friend, who lives a 1000 miles away, I began
my journey of getting to know Christ personally. She helped me see how important it
was to find a home church that taught the Bible. We've had many talks over the months.
Thank goodness for 10 cents a minute plans!
My brother works at the Grace Hospital so I asked him if he would come with me some
Sunday to the Salvation Army church. That was just over a year and a half ago. I am
thankful for all the wonderful people God is bringing into my life here at the chruch.
"I love coming to church". :)
Life since I accepted the Lord has only gotten better. I don't always understand why
certain events happen, but I know God is in control. I am learning to trust in Him.
He is working in my heart and in my life. I have felt His presence comforting me. I
see His beautiful handiwork all around.
The following verse helps to remind me that "God will be there", so don't sway away
from Him. "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess for he who promised is faithful"
- Hebrews 10:23
He is faithful!
